  Donald M. Biernacki — Senior Vice President, Head of Construction

Don Biernacki joined Related Midwest in 1990 as a Project Manager and currently serves as a Senior Vice President. While at Related Midwest, Mr. Biernacki has been directly responsible for the successful construction of over forty projects. Mr. Biernacki has extensive expertise in all areas of historic renovation, adaptive reuse, and high-end residential construction and is currently directing the construction of the Residences on Lake Shore Park. Most recently finished projects include Park Tower Condominiums, the redevelopment of the national landmark district at Fort Sheridan, and the historic renovation of The Arcade in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Biernacki is also President of Quality First Contracting Company, a Related Midwest affiliate specializing in finish carpentry, restoration projects and detailed installations.

Mr. Biernacki graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

 

Tanker Cook — Vice President, Senior Project Manager, Construction

Mr. Cook leads the Unit Build-Out Division, which concentrates on customized high-end residential projects. Currently, he is completing The Residences on Lake Shore Park.

Since joining Related Midwest in 1994 he has overseen the completion of Ontario Street Lofts, The Mayfair, Building 48 at The Town of Fort Sheridan, and Park Tower. Mr. Cook has 34 years of experience in construction management, concentrating during this time on premier large-scale high-end projects of single and multi-family homes in the Chicago and Texas markets.

Mr. Cook earned a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics and Accounting from Louisiana State University.

 

Ted Duke — Vice President, Construction

Mr. Duke is responsible for affordable housing construction and adaptive reuse construction activities at Related Midwest. He has recently completed the condominium adaptive reuse activities at The Town of Fort Sheridan, an affordable Hope VI development in Peoria and an affordable multifamily development in the Humboldt Park area. Mr. Duke brings 37 years of diversified development and construction experience to Related Midwest.

Prior to joining Related Midwest in 1999, Mr. Duke worked for the Kenard Corporation/Concord Development with responsibility for management and construction activities related to their high-end Chicago condominium loft conversions. He previously served as Regional Vice President for the American Diversified Companies and Vice President of American Diversified Savings Bank where he developed and constructed several diverse new and adaptive reuse developments. Mr. Duke’s experience includes management and construction responsibilities for N.K.Winston-Muss, Centex Homes, Building Systems Housing Corp., Amcon and Cor Development.

 

Larry Koch — Vice President, Senior Project Manager, Construction

Mr. Koch heads up the Base Building Construction Division, with responsibility for core and shell construction of large residential and commercial ventures. Mr. Koch joined Related Midwest in 1996 as construction manager of The Regent Condominium Project. Subsequently Mr. Koch has worked on the Des Plaines Library Plaza Development and projects at Fort Sheridan. The Residences on Lake Shore Park project is Mr. Koch’s current focus, with the development of residential projects in the Cathedral District and the North Loop underway.

Prior to joining Related Midwest in 1995, Mr. Koch served as Project Manager for J.S. Drew Construction for 15 years where he worked on a variety of projects including residential, commercial, utility company and public work projects. Mr. Koch has been involved with construction since 1973.

Mr. Koch graduated with a B.S. degree in Education from the University of Missouri.

 

Denise Hall — Senior Project Manager

Mrs. Hall, a Senior Project Manager, currently leads the unit build-out construction team at 840 North Lake Shore Drive. Since joining the company in 1996, she has been involved in the design and construction of residential units on various projects. Past experiences include The Mayfair Condominiums, Cinema Lofts, Baypoint, The Town of Fort Sheridan and The Park Tower.

Mrs. Hall earned a B.S. in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois. She participated in the Study Abroad Program in Versailles, France.

 

Amy Mayer — Senior Project Manager

Ms. Mayer is responsible for scheduling management and coordination of construction on various projects. Currently, she is working on The Residences on Lake Shore Park. Past experiences include The Mayfair Condominiums, Town of Fort Sheridan, and Park Tower.

Previously, Ms. Mayer worked for Joseph-Murphy Architects in Geneva, Illinois and Severns, Reid & Assoc. in Champaign, Illinois where she was responsible for facility assessments and construction development.

Ms. Mayer earned a B.S. in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois. She participated in the Study Abroad Program in Versailles, France, and traveled to Europe and Turkey on University sponsored fellowships.

 

Mike Warren — Senior Project Manager, Base Building Construction

Mr. Warren is a Senior Project Manager for the Base Building Construction Division with responsibilities for core and shell construction of large residential and commercial ventures. Mr. Warren joined Related Midwest in 2000 as a Senior Project Manager for the Residences on Lake Shore Park project. He is currently working on our Sixty West Erie project.

Prior to joining Related Midwest, Mr. Warren was employed by The Drew Companies for 21 years where he served in many capacities ranging from project manager to his last role as Director of Government Leasing. Throughout his career there he worked on a variety of projects including renovations at the Lincoln Park Children’s Zoo, the Elks Veterans Memorial, and the ground floor renovations of Chicago’s City Hall.
