Green Commitment

For two decades, Related Midwest has lead the way in creating architecturally significant landmarks. Now, we are pleased to lead the way in sustainable building practices designed to significantly reduce the impact on the environment and improve the health and well-being of our community.

In the year 2000, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) established the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™ as a measure of the environmental footprint made by new construction and renovation of commercial and residential buildings.

In 2008, Related Midwest’s 340 on the Park in Chicago becomes the first residential tower in the Midwest to meet the USGBC’s LEED Silver certification standards. Following that example, Related Midwest’s newest development, The Peshtigo, is designed to achieve LEED certification as well. By utilizing cost-effective and efficient use of energy and other resources during construction, and planning for sustainability over the life of the building, 340 on the Park and The Peshtigo have set a very high standard for green buildings to come.

The Related Companies have made a commitment to green practices, and will be incorporating them into every project we undertake. Related Midwest is proud to be setting the standard for sustainability in Chicago and beyond.
